Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Urple, LLC, a Georgia limited liability company ("Urple, LLC," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the Snapacket mobile application and related services (the "Service").
Snapacket is built for a parent or guardian helping a child with schoolwork. The parent holds the account and operates the app; children do not have their own accounts and do not sign in. We collect as little as the Service needs to explain a worksheet, assess the work on it, and suggest one useful next step.
If you have questions about this policy or about your information, email us at hello@urple.co.
1. Information we collect
Account information. You sign in with a third-party identity provider such as Apple or Google. We receive an account identifier and, depending on the provider and your choices, an email address and display name. We never receive your password.
Child profile information. You may enter a child's first name or nickname and their grade level (Kindergarten through Grade 5) so that analysis and practice are matched to the right level. We do not ask for a child's last name, birth date, address, phone number, photograph, school, or contact information, and you should not enter them.
Worksheet images. When you photograph or upload a worksheet page, that image is sent to our servers so it can be analyzed and is stored privately in your account so you can revisit the evidence later.
Scan results and app activity. We store what the Service produces from a scan: the detected subject and skill, the estimated grade level, completion status, the analysis of any answers, corrections you confirm, generated practice worksheets, suggested offline activities, and the scan date.
Purchase information. If you buy a subscription or other paid feature, the purchase is processed by Apple. We receive confirmation of your subscription status through our payments provider (RevenueCat) along with an anonymous customer identifier. We never receive or store your credit card or payment details.
Technical and diagnostic information. Our servers log ordinary technical details such as request timestamps, error messages, and performance timings so we can keep the Service working and diagnose failures.
2. How we use information
We use the information above to: analyze the worksheet you scan and explain what it teaches; assess completed work and flag answers we could not read confidently; generate a grounded practice worksheet and one offline activity matched to the detected skill and grade; keep your scan library available across sessions and devices; provide the paid features you have purchased; respond to support requests; and monitor, debug, secure, and improve the Service.
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not show ads in Snapacket.
3. AI processing
Worksheet analysis, practice generation, and offline activity suggestions are produced with the help of third-party artificial intelligence models. To do that, the worksheet image and the minimal context needed for the request — such as the grade level — are transmitted to our AI provider (OpenRouter) and the model provider it routes the request to.
We do not send a child's name, your email address, or your account identifier to AI providers as part of these requests.
AI-generated content can be wrong. Snapacket is a supplemental tool for a parent, not a substitute for a teacher or professional educational advice, and the app is written to show uncertainty rather than to overstate confidence.
4. Children’s privacy
Snapacket is intended for use by adults. Children do not create accounts, do not sign in, and are not the audience for the app; the design deliberately keeps the child learning on paper and away from the screen.
The limited child information in the Service — a first name or nickname, a grade level, and the schoolwork you choose to scan — is entered by you, the parent or guardian, and is used only to produce analysis and practice for your family. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children, we do not permit children to make information publicly available through the Service, and we do not use child information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to providing the Service.
You may review, correct, or delete a child's profile and any scan at any time in the app, and deleting a child removes that child's profile, scans, stored worksheet images, and generated materials. If you believe a child has provided us information directly, email hello@urple.co and we will delete it.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We share information only with service providers that operate the Service on our behalf, and only as needed for them to perform that work: Supabase (database, authentication, and private file storage), OpenRouter and the model providers it routes to (worksheet analysis and content generation), Apple and Google (sign-in), Apple and RevenueCat (purchases and subscription status), and Expo (app builds and updates).
We may also disclose information if required by law or valid legal process, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users, the public, or Urple, LLC. If Urple, LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction; we will take reasonable steps to notify you and this policy will continue to apply until it is replaced.
6. Storage, retention, and deletion
Worksheet images are stored privately and are readable only by your account. Data is held on infrastructure located in the United States.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. Original worksheet photos remain until you delete the scan, delete the child they belong to, or delete your account. Each of those deletions removes the corresponding stored image along with the database records; deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
You can delete your entire account, and everything in it, from within the app. We may retain limited records where required by law, and routine backups and server logs may persist for a short period before expiring on their normal schedule.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, authenticated access to the API, and database rules that restrict every record and stored image to the account that owns it. The app also offers an optional parent gate so a child cannot browse the app on your phone.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices and rights
You control what you scan and what you enter. You can review, edit, or delete any scan, any child profile, or your whole account from within the app at any time, and you can manage camera and photo library permissions in iOS Settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to appeal a decision we make about such a request. Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have these rights, as do individuals in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise a right, email hello@urple.co from the address associated with your account. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as within the app, and we will update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
